Refund Policy

This policy covers the managed cloud plans. The self-hosted version of Lector is free and open source — there's nothing to pay and nothing to refund.

Short version. 14-day money-back guarantee on your first payment, cancel any time, and if you decide to switch to the free self-hosted version part-way through a cycle, we'll refund the rest of it. No hard feelings.

14-day money-back guarantee

If you're not happy with a cloud plan, email us within 14 days of your first payment and we'll refund it in full — no questions asked.

Cancel any time

You can cancel whenever you like. Cancellation stops any future billing, and you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. Outside the situations below, we don't normally refund the unused part of a current billing period.

Switching to self-hosting

Lector is self-hostable and free, and we'd never want the subscription to trap you. If you cancel mid-cycle to move to the self-hosted version, email us and we'll refund the unused remainder of your current period. We'll happily point you at the setup docs too.

Annual plans

Cancelled an annual plan early? On request, we'll refund the unused whole months remaining in your term.

How refunds are processed

Payments and refunds are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method through Paddle, and typically take a few business days to appear. This policy doesn't affect any statutory rights you have, such as consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law or the EU right of withdrawal.

Requesting a refund

Email support@lector.dev from the address on your account, or use the customer portal link on your Paddle receipt. Lector is operated by Luke Boyle.
